Layershift Laboratories develops its own technical products and also takes on engineering projects for external customers.
The core customer value is not merely having many disciplines available. One counterpart can own architecture, interfaces, and technical responsibility across the whole product.
Layershift is especially effective where mechanics, electronics, embedded software, and connected services have to fit together – and where isolated partial solutions do not address the real risk.
Development of the ATHENA 3D printing systems is the primary public reference for this capability. Own products create operational field experience rather than pure advisory optics.
That product work informs decisions on manufacturing, operations, maintainability, updates, and long-term ownership in the field – not only on isolated development tasks.
Layershift Laboratories is led by Pascal Wistinghausen. He is the technical counterpart for architecture, delivery, and the interfaces between disciplines – from early system clarity through to a robust handover.
The work connects own product development under Concepts 3D – visible for example in the ATHENA systems – with engineering projects for external customers. Based in East Westphalia; collaboration is possible in German and English.
Clarity before speed theater: system boundaries, risks, and decision points are made visible early. Delivery is iterative with traceable intermediate results.
